architecture | Old and new apartment buildings

On the Kisseleff road a new apartment building arose recently. Its fate was supposed to be different – office building. The change will be good or will it be bad? The opinion is yours. Initially, the immobile in the Kisseleff Street was destined to offices, with the exception of a surface meant for work residences. The change in the function implied – obviously – a chain so long of supplementary modifications that for the sake of fidelity to the story of the birth of a new house in Bucharest we do it. The initial identity of the construction has been abandoned in favor of that of apartment building with residences for rent. The term ‘apartment building’ sounds almost ridiculous from the consecrated perspective in Romania, as its resonance is acutely infirmed by the reality of the subject we are speaking of. At the foundation of the project, the reasons are related to the rapports with the site, the destination – from which the standard resulted – of the apartments and the pleasure of skillfully sneaking in among the conditions.

design | Euroluce 2003

Euroluce 2003 is a section-salon of the annual Milanese fair of furniture design. Very much appreciated for the novelties brought in the design of the illuminating body, ?Euroluce? has hosted a series of seminars dedicated to the light and to ambient illumination. Meeting place for creators and producers of illuminating bodies from all over the world, this section has created a bridge of direct, personal and intimate contact between the individual, the product and an environment created to fit the human dimension in which ?la luce? always becomes a clearly emotional project and, less and less, a purely functional element. Besides, uniting technology with beauty, ?Euroluce? proposes also solutions that take under consideration the habitat and the energetic problems. The alternative energy sources and the lamps created from recyclable materials and remanufactured are already part of the designers? preoccupations and no longer constitute a problem for the producers. ?Immaginando Prometeo?, an installation-event performed by artists from different fields in collaboration with the Milano City Hall, reveals a different dimension conferred to the light at ?Euroluce? ? the metaphoric, evocative, which emphasizes the intrinsic connection between illumination and the desired/inhabited environment.

interior | Bang& Olufsen showroom in Bucharest

The arrangement of the space hosting the B&O showroom tries to be at the level of the technology it introduces. The exhibition is performed through a succession of vertical panels, discretely rhythmed through color and texture, so that attention should be focused mainly on the quality of the object. Besides, the crossing of the space is interactive, the sound and image accompanying the visitor?s course. The mandatory creation of a space with precise destination ? the audition and visioning room ? comes to underline the exceptional presentation of the company and the placing in the luxury category of its products. The success of such an arrangement remains without a doubt the elegant and exquisite integration of the technological objects in the architecture of the new millennium, these being themselves generators of architecture plastics and image.

interior | Office arrangement as for people

In this project we are speaking of two floors, with separate but different functions. Administratively speaking, in one of them the offices of the creation department should have been reorganized. Humanly speaking, the space should have been carefully translated into this instrument of profit which is the employee of a major company. Architecturally speaking, it was supposed to be nice, well lit, friendly and cheerful. Not to mention a number of work stations, sub departments and secretariats, offices and toilets, the boss?s office, meeting areas and other small normal functions for a bureaucratic body of such dimensions.
