Nominalizările Brit Insurance Designs of the Year Award

Dacă vă doriţi să fiţi la curent cu tot ceea ce s-a întâmplat mai bun în 2010 în domeniul designului, nu trebuie să rataţi expoziţia ce se deschide mâine, 16 februarie, la Design Museum din Londra, prezentând nominalizările celei de-a patra ediţii a Brit Insurance Design Awards. Experţi din industria designului au selectat obiecte şi proiecte inovative din întreaga lume (chiar dacă în continuare Europa şi SUA sunt cel mai bine reprezentate), grupându-le pe 7 categorii: Architecture, Fashion, Furniture, Graphics, Interactive, Product şi Transport. Diversitatea proiectelor, de la candelabrele Swarovski ale lui Yves Behar la jocul Angry Birds semnat de Rovio Mobile, de la Apple iPad la adăposturile de urgenţă din beton realizate în Wales sau la colecţia de haine Gareth Pugh, chiar dacă imprimă expoziţiei o înfăţişare eclectică, reflectă importanţa şi impactul designului în societatea actuală.

Pe 28 februarie juriul format din Stephen Bayley, Janice Blackburn (curator de artă şi design), Mark Farrow (grafician), Will Self (scriitor), Penny Sparke (Decan la Kingston University), Simon Waterfall (fondator al agenţiei Poke) şi Bill Moggeridge (Director al Coper-Hewitt National Design Museum, New York) va anunţa câştigătorii celor 7 secţiuni, iar pe 15 martie, va fi acordat trofeul Brit Insurance Design of the Year, realizat în acest an de cunoscutul Ross Lovegrove.
